It’s like clockwork. Every winter, local businesswoman Ursula Fuchs makes the annual trek back to her roots in Switzerland for a week of snow skiing. She’ll tell you nothing quite compares to the otherworldly feeling of gliding down the powdered slopes on a pair of skis. That is, except perhaps for the surreal and exhilarating feeling of exploring a Caribbean reef, 30-meters under the sea. And once again, you can bet Ursula has her yearly summer scuba-diving vacation highlighted on her calendar. Friend and family will tell you that’s just Ursula or Uschi (pronounced “Ooshi”), as she’s called by those closest to her. She’s a methodical, highly disciplined individual that savors very opportunity to get the most out of life.

In fact, “like clockwork” is a fitting description for Ursula, who was born and raised in the German-speaking part of Switzerland, a country known for its precision watchmakers and punctual trains. In fact, she speaks German Fluently and is very proud of her roots.

Living in a village of 300 people that didn’t contain a single car, you could also say that she grew up almost in another time. And in Europe, students took apprenticeships after graduating from high school and Ursula was trained in the art of watch making. Her three-year apprenticeship was with IWC, one of the most prestigious watch companies in the world. After completing her apprenticeship, she went on to work for Omega, another prominent watch company.

After her years as a watchmaker, Ursula began to take trips across the globe. Her wanderlust took her to Spain and then across north and central Africa before she decided to make traveling a full-time passion. She took many odd-jobs to help support herself as she traveled across the world, where she also found great adventure. After a spell in Australia, Ursula landed in Los Angeles, planning a Coast to Coast trip of the U.S. But she met a chef in a restaurant, and before long they were married. That was over twenty years ago, and Ursula and her husband, Alfred, have since seen the U.S. many times over. Ursula served as a tour guide for 15 years and she and Alfred settled in New Jersey over a decade ago, finding it the perfect place to pursue their outdoor activities, tend their garden and become involved with their community.

But when it’s time to go to work helping her clients and their important real estate decisions, Ursula gives it her all. Just as she likes to live life to the fullest through her many interests, she wants to get the most out of every situation for her real estate clients.
